Ask for evidence you can check
Request the parents’ identities and relevant health testing records, not just a statement that puppies have seen a vet. Ask what each result means and how it can be independently checked. The breed club’s breeder questions provide a useful starting point.
Learn about ordinary puppy life
Discuss where the puppies live, their early experiences and how the breeder evaluates a match with a household. A responsible conversation should include questions for you too. Pressure to send a deposit before basic information is supplied is a reason to pause.
Read the agreement early
Ask about the transfer records, support after pickup and what happens if you cannot keep the dog. Keep copies of the agreement and payment records. We do not rank or endorse individual sellers; use the same checks for every introduction or recommendation.
